Job Position: Accounting Manager
Location: TOPEKA, KS 66612
Description:
Job Duties/Responsibilities
– Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
– Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
– Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
– Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and provide insights into financial performance.
– Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in day-to-day operations.
– Coordinate and assist with external audits and tax filings.
– Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
– Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
– Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
– Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
– Proven experience in accounting or financial management roles.
– Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP).
– Proficiency in accounting software and tools, as well as advanced Excel skills.
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
– Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– General educational background in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically expected.
